World Cup season is on and till now it has been more of a batting display as most of the teams batting first have scored over 200 runs. But today we saw low scoring match thanks to good bowling by New Zealand and below average batting from Scotland. At one time Scotland was 4 down and had hardly scored 20 runs. That’s when the record of lowest score in World Cups could be broken but Scotland came back well managed 142 runs before getting all-out.

Stat updated till 16 February, 2015
South Africa with their lowest score of 149 are the team with the highest score in most lowest scores and second in the list is UAE with 136, which comes as shock but they have hardly played 5 matches in the World Cup so far. Australia is third on the list with 129 against India in the 1983 World Cup. On the 4th position we have India, when they scored 125 against Australia in the 2003 World Cup.
There record for the lowest World Cup score is held by Canada for their score of 36 against Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup.
The lowest score in the 2015 World Cup so far is 142, but we can definitely expect this score to go further down.
