‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair recently talked to Givemesports.com. Some highlights are given below;

Reigns’ relation to The Rock hindering his popularity:

“I don’t pay a lot of attention to him talking on the mic but I think he’s okay. Fans look at Roman and they want him to sound like The Rock and that isn’t going to happen. The Rock didn’t become The Rock overnight either though. It took him a few years as well to nail down who he was and what he was about.”

Reigns having a bright future:

“It takes time for young talent to grow. It’s not just a name, they’ve got to build a brand. Fans have to become attached to the brand and that’s hard to do and it takes more than one or two years. Legends like Steve Austin didn’t just turn up and start talking like that either, it took him time as well. Roman [Reigns] has got so much talent that fans are going to have to be patient with him. It doesn’t happen overnight. If people are upset with Roman it’s not over a lack of talent. Fans are always going to have their opinion, but Roman has a fantastic future ahead of him.”

Former WWE superstar CM Punk spoke to TMJ4 in Wisconsin recently. Here are some highlights;

Training at Roufusport MMA Academy in Milwaukee:

“I think everybody who runs most of the camps are wise to the fact that (me competing in UFC) is good for the sport. If I thought I would’ve been sacrificing quality by coming here, just because it’s 90 minutes away, I would’ve gone somewhere else.”

Not being intimidated by his first fight being with UFC:

“I’m not letting what I don’t know preventing me from any life experience. I’m not going to stop myself from going to a foreign country because I don’t know the language. It’s very much like that. I’ve packed my bags and I’ve gone to Japan without knowing anybody or speaking the language.”

Being in touch with Brock Lesnar:

“I’ve talked to him and he’s offered all his help, even if it’s just bug him with a stupid question. It’s cool to know he supports me. He’s a good guy to know, I think.”

When his first fight will be:

“I’m not sure. My attitude is I’d fight tomorrow, but I’d pretty much know the outcome. I’m on an accelerated path. This is college and I’m cramming four years of college into one year. I’ve been here a little over one month now. Five more months we’re going to sit down and we’re going to talk, and we’re going to see where my weight’s at, we’re going to see how I feel. It’s no longer just up to me. It’s up to my coaches. This is just a guess, October, November, December. But we’ll see. I’m fully aware it could be later than that, could be earlier than that.”

Does he think about returning to wrestling?

“I don’t think about it at all. I don’t want to say one track minded, I’m very focused and goal-oriented. I did everything I could in pro wrestling. I don’t like going backwards. I have, what I think is, a very bright future.”
