The discarded India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has floated the name of Zaheer Khan for the post of India’s fast bowling coach. At present, Indian team is without a fast bowling coach. Here is what Harbhajan tweeted –
@ImZaheer would be the best option for indian fast bowling coach in my opinion..Great mind #Greatfella

Last year, there were rumours that BCCI has offered Zaheer Khan the post but the deal could not be finalised due to the financial issues. As per the reports, Zaheer demanded an amount of 4 Crore for 100 days service, which BCCI rejected, as it was a costly affair for them.
Despite this, Zaheer has been the front-runner for the post, as no other name has cropped up till now.
Harbhajan is not the only one to back Zaheer as the bowling coach, as earlier, Gautam Gambhir and cricket expert Harsh Bhogle have also backed Zaheer for the job.
Zaheer Khan is one of the best fast bowlers India has ever produced. He made his international debut against Kenya in the 2000 Champions Trophy where he scalped three wickets. From there, he went on to play 92 Tests and 200 ODIs for India. He also played 17 T20I’s with last the one coming in the in T20 World Cup in 2012 against South Africa. In total, Zaheer has scalped a total of 610 international wickets.
Zaheer has also worked as the bowling consultant with Delhi Daredevils in past. Though he has failed to lead the side from the front but it is a fact that he is one best bowler even in IPL.
Surely, the Indian team management would like to appoint a learned player like Zaheer as the coach of the side but for that, both the parties have to agree upon a common agreement so as to finalise the deal.
At present, Anil Kumble is the Head coach of Indian cricket team, who took over the job last year in the month of June. Team India have performed quite well under his tenure so far as the side is yet to lose any international series against any of the opposition since Kumble has taken over, barring the T20I series played in the USA, where the second game was a washout.
India conquered each and every opposition during the home domestic season and would love to take the same form in the ICC Champions Trophy as well.
