Arsenal and Manchester United transfer target Benedikt Howedes has revealed that his ultimate “goal” is to play in the English Premier League. Howedes claimed that he will never play for any other Bundesliga club other than Schalke. Howedes is valued in the region of £14 million by the Bundesliga club.
Howedes, who has been constantly monitored by Arsenal and Manchester United is one of the best defenders in the world right and he is equally comfortable playing as a central defender or on the left.
Arsenal has done regular scouting on the German World Cup winner while Van Gaal is a big fan of Howedes, whom the Dutchman wants to come and stabilize United’s shaky defense.
Premier League giants will be boosted from Howdes’s recent comments. While speaking to one of the local German press releases, Howedes was heard saying:
“If I am to leave Schalke one day, I do not want to move clubs within the Bundesliga.
“Schalke is too close to my heart to do so. But a move abroad at a certain time would be worth an experience.
“England would be my goal.”
With his statement the German International has made a direct come and get me plea to Arsenal and Manchester United who need a proper central defender the most. It remains to be seen who acts swiftly and reaches an agreement with Howedes over a possible summer move. Howedes is resigned to stay in Bundesliga next season and wants to seal his transfer to the Premier League next season.
Howedes will come in at cheap for Arsenal and Manchester United as well. Some of the other names, Manchester United are targeting for the same position wil cost United easily in the region of 30-35 million but Howedes will come at a mere 14 million which sounds like a bargain deal for both Arsenal and Manchester United.
