South Africa’s dynamic batsman Jean Paul Duminy has said that the team is full of confidence after their 62-run triumph against Zimbabwe and are ready to take on India on February 22nd at Melbourne. Duminy accepted that he was under pressure when they were reduced to 83 run for the loss of four wickets against Zimbabwe batting first, but finally fashioned a classy turnaround with David Miller who scored 138 (not out), playing a glorious 115-run knock to come out on top with a daunting total of 339 runs for the loss of four wickets.

He said that he enjoyed it totally. They do not want to find themselves in that place again, particularly in the knock-out levels, but it is good to get an innings like that under the belt coming in under-pressure.

Duminy was quoted as saying by timeslive.co.za:

We needed to make a play and to soak up the pressure that was there. I am pleased with the performance. It’s something to enjoy getting time in the middle. Batting at six it’s not always possible to get a lengthy period of time out in the middle. It was a good opportunity to find my feet and to understand what is needed in certain situations.

JP Duminy said he was starting to feel cozy after the ton batting at the important 6th place. He explained that it is about adjusting and making sure they have different sets of skills for different circumstances.

He concluded saying that these are the things they talk about in squad and batters’ meetings and they try to implement them. On Sunday was a good showcase of our talents, particularly himself and David Miller. They are enjoying batting together and they adjunct each other well.
