In the latest development coming from the United Kingdom, Team India’s left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh has missed out on a customary two-hour practice session on Friday at the iconic Lord’s stadium after suffering from fever prior to the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy which is scheduled to kick off on June 1.

The reports further suggested senior campaigner Yuvraj missed the practice session after having a seasonal fever and management is hopeful to see the Chandigarh-born batsman recovering within day’s time after facing a lot of hardships in his life.

According to the latest development, the management of the team has consulted the doctors and Yuvraj is highly likely to take the field as soon as possible.

Following a mini-scare, the reports suggested the swashbuckling batsman is expected to be fit in a couple of days, as India is scheduled to play its inaugural match against arch-rivals Pakistan at Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 4.

However, India will play its first warm-up match against Group A team New Zealand on Sunday (May 28) at the Kennington Oval in London before taking on their neighbours Bangladesh on May 30 at The Oval.

It’s is highly likely Yuvraj might miss out on the first warm-up match against the Black Caps in a bid to get hundred percent fit for the short-term tournament.

Moreover, the other 14 players of the 15-member squad had a hard-fought session in the nets which was further comprised of fielding drills, batting practice and bowling sessions before the team returned back to Grange City Hotel which is located at Cooper Row in London.

It is pertinent to note, the security grid has been tightened in England following the attack in Manchester, as the world cricket governing body has also taken precautionary measures alongside England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), to thwart an untoward incident.

Earlier, the Virat Kohli-led side took off on Wednesday evening to London and Yuvraj was excited to be the part of a competitive unit after missing the 2013 edition of ICC Champions Trophy.

Interestingly, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is yet to give their opinion on Yuvraj, but there is no activity taking place on that front in Mumbai-based cricket body BCCI, as it’s a normal happening taking place in human body.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the chairman MSK Prasad and a selector were on their way to London and there is no talk of a replacement taking place at the moment after Yuvraj deliberately missed the training session as a precautionary measure.

Yuvraj, who made his international debut in 2000, has played 296 One-day Internationals for India in which he had amassed 8,538 runs at an average of 36.80. He smashed 14 hundreds and 51 fifties and has also claimed 93 catches.
