Sachin: A Billion Dreams Day 2 Collection: Biographical Film Surpasses Day 1 Collection 1

The much-awaited biographical film of Sachin Tendulkar, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ opened with a bang as it recorded a box office score of Rs. 8.40 crores on its opening day and in the process, created history by becoming the first docu-drama to get the biggest opening in the genre in all languages. The film was also released in Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English. The documentary movie also registered the sixth-highest opening of the year in Bollywood so far.

One of the most celebrated sportspeople in the country and probably the biggest cricketer to don the Indian jersey, Sachin’s biopic was tipped to create a wave at the box office and so seeing it creating history on the first day was not surprising at all.

Ever since the news of a film on Sachin Tendulkar’s life broke out, fans across the country were eager to witness the journey of the batting maestro. Written and directed by Academy Award winner James Erskine, the film traces Sachin’s life from a curly-haired naughty boy to the biggest star in world cricket. The biopic gives an opportunity to the fans to know more about the batting legend’s life and the fans are not letting the chance go out of their hand. What makes this biopic even more special is the fact that the whole movie has been narrated none other than Sachin Tendulkar himself.

And as expected, the movie continued to do well on day 2. Moreover, positive reviews from critics and Saturday being a weekend worked in the movie’s favour as it witnessed decent growth in its collection and collected an amount of 10.20 crores. According to reports in a popular news outlet, the movie’s overall collection after day 2 now stands at  Rs 18.60 crores.
