That cricket is a game of gentlemen once again came to the fore in the ongoing warm-up match between India and New Zealand in London. The incident occurred when the Men in Blue were 128 for 3 while chasing 189 with Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni taking care of the chase.
In the 26th over of India’s innings, Tim Southee bowled an angled delivery to Dhoni who tried to tuck it towards leg by shuffling across the stumps. But in doing so, he failed to make any contact with the ball and as a result, the ball went on to hit his pads. As expected, Southee appealed for an LBW while Dhoni and Kohli decided to steal a single as the ball rolled behind the square. But as Dhoni was completing the single, he bumped into Southee who was busy in appealing while the former was busy in watching the ball. But fortunately both the former Chennai Super Kings players avoided any injury after the nasty-looking collision and ended the incident by exchanging smiles.
