COA To Meet Virat Kohli And Anil Kumble Before Appointing New Coach 1

The Committee of Administrators (COA) led by Vinod Rai is all set to table a meeting with India Head Coach Anil Kumble and skipper Virat Kohli before taking any decision is taken over the appointment of a new coach for the Indian team.

There have been reports that skipper and coach do not share a good relation due to the dominating behaviour of Kumble in the dressing room.

Recently, BCCI put an advertisement to invite applications for the post of coach and from then, the matter came to notice that all is not well in the dressing room. During all this, the biggest news came when reports suggested that Kumble allegedly leaked the dressing room talks on WhatsApp to his close journalists.

In all probability, Kumble is unexpected to continue the post due to all what has come out but he will meet the COA before stepping down as the coach.

However, to let team concentrate solely on the Champions Trophy, BCCI’s acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary and General Manager, Cricket Operations, MV Sridhar has flown to England to sort out the issue. They will also be present in the meeting between COA, coach and the captain.

With all what is brewing in the Indian camp, it is sort of confirmed that Kumble will be reluctant to continue even if given an extension, as there can’t be two voices in the dressing room. Ravi Shastri or Virender Sehwag are expected to replace Kumble.

It is a known fact that Kohli shares a good relation with Shastri. On the other hand, Sehwag was asked to apply for the post by BCCI itself. Rest, there has been no news regarding any of the applicant jumping in this race which makes it easier for the committee comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman who will decide the next coach of Indian cricket team.

Kumble’s stint as head coach of the side ends after Champions Trophy 2017.
