Pakistan‘s former skipper and pace superstar Wasim Akram has advised the national team management to not engage the cricketers in long discussions or training sessions ahead of their important International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2015 game against Zimbabwe.

Wasim Akram was quoted by saying Geo News channel: “All these long meetings and discussions and hard training will do no good. The best thing now is to allow the players to relax for the next few days and let them come back fresh for their next match.

The Pakistani pace bowling legend further said that the Pakistani cricketers required to relax and unwind after suffering losses at the hands India and West Indies. He said that what has happened can’t be transformed but now the cricketers must regroup and return fresh in remaining games.

Shaharyar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman said that he had spoken to skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and the team management over the squad’s preparation while other reports said that manager Naved Cheema and head coach Waqar Younis had held one to one discussions with the cricketers to counsel them in Brisbane.

Wasim Akram said the ICC World Cup was all about managing the pressure and cricketers required to relax. He also suggested the team management to not test anymore and go in with skilled wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed and a 4th bowler for the remaining games.

He said that he does not understand how serious was his wound that he could field for the entire innings but come out to bat. The former skipper said Pakistan could still get the pass to the quarterfinals provided they played sensible cricket.
