The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an investigation on former Pakistan wicket-keeper and present National selector Moin Khan for going to casino just two days before Pakistan’s match against West Indies. It is learnt that Moin Khan visited the casino with his wife at around 3 AM and a Pakistani couple had a snap with Moin and made a video out of it. So, now Moin was asked to return to Pakistan for investigation and the team manager Naveed Cheema also confirmed that he will head the investigation and strict action will be taken against Moin should he be found guilty. PCB President Shaharyar Khan also backed Cheema and said that if found guilty, Moin will be punished severely.

We have launched an investigation over the reports that Moin Khan visited a casino, action will be taken if the reports prove true. As per initial reports, Moin Khan went there to have a meal two days before the match against the West Indies and a Pakistani couple photographed him and made a video. But we will not make anybody a scapegoat and will investigate this incident before taking any action, said Khan.

The PCB also added that though Moin isn’t a part of the official World Cup squad, he has permission to attend team meetings and if invited, can even enter the dressing room. While Moin has generally avoided interacting with the players during matches, he has, at times, been seen sitting next to them in the dugout since he holds an ICC accreditation.
