Liverpool are reportedly edging nearer to sealing the deal for AS Roma attacker Mohamed Salah and the player was snapped with the club’s jersey.

The 24-year old have already agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants as he will be earning £90,000-a-week at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp has identified the Egyptian international as an ideal addition to his exiting forward line as the Reds will be taking part in Champions League for the first time under the German next season.

However, Roma are playing hard ball over the transfer as they rejected Liverpool’s £28 million opening bid. The Italian club are valuing Salah at a staggering £40 million and are not ready to let him go for a lesser price.

Liverpool are not willing to meet the huge price tag but are keen to negotiate for Salah as they are also looking for  other potential targets. The winger have not proved his class in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea.

The Blues have let him leave after his struggling first season at Stamford Bridge as he was loaned out to Italian club FIorentina. He then moved on a permanent deal to AS Roma after the loan stint and have grown into much better player with the Italian giants.

Salah has been arguably Roma’s best player in the attack as he scored 19 goals and made 15 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. The talented winger is currently on international duty with Egypt and have taken a snap with two fans who were holding Liverpool shirts.

Reports in Italy suggest that Liverpool are close to completing the deal for Salah despite the Reds reluctance to meet the asking price of Roma. He moved to Roma on a permanent deal only last season and it remains to be seen whether the club will let their star leave despite all the rumors.

Salah will play a massive role for Egypt this week as the African nation are ready to play in World Cup qualifier against Uganda on Sunday. An addition of the 24-year old would be great for the Reds which will give their attack much needed depth as they will compete in Europe as well next season.
