Champions Trophy 2017 : Scared Of Virat Kohli: Morne Morkel 1

After a shock defeat against Sri Lanka on Thursday, India must win their final Group B fixture at The Oval to avoid an embarrassing exit. It’s  a do or die match for both the teams – India and South Africa.

India came into the tournament as favourites to lift the trophy, but failure to build on their opening match thrashing of Pakistan has put their title defence in jeopardy.

Virat is known as a player for big matches; he has always come up triumphant whenever the team required him to! Least to say Sunday’s mega clash will bring about the best in Kohli. That’s the fear that concerns Morkel ahead of the clash.

The one highlight in the field for South Africa was the form of the towering quick bowler Morkel, who took two wickets in four balls on his way to three for 18 in seven overs.

But asked what his plans were for bowling at India’s captain Kohli, who made an unbeaten 81 against Pakistan last weekend, pacer Morkel told reporters:
“I was hoping you guys could tell me that.”
He also said the fact that Sunday’s game is going to be huge as it would be not a cakewalk to rule India out of the tournament.
“Sunday is a big day for us. It’s going to take a big team effort to knock over India. But we have to back ourselves to win.” he added.
Prior to Champions Trophy, Morkel has not played an ODI since 2016.
