Mahendra Singh Dhoni might have stepped down from captaincy but the former India skipper still seems to be the main man when it comes to taking the big decisions. And the recent incident that happened in the ongoing must-win match between the Men in Blue and South Africa clearly proves that.

The incident occurred in the 41st over when Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery hit Andile Phehlukwayo straight into the pads. It was a low full toss, straight, and was looking quite close. As expected, the Indian fielders went up in unison only to see the umpire giving his decision in the favour of the batsman. The umpire’s decision had left everyone surprised including Dhoni who was seen thinking with his gloves on his face. It was a close call and moreover a wicket at that juncture would have put the Indian team on top. Not willing to waste the chance to pile more pressure on the Proteas, who were reeling at 178 for 6, Virat Kohli went straight to Dhoni to ask for his opinion and reviewed the decision. Replays showed the ball was hitting the stumps and the umpire had to overturn his decision.
