India cruises off to the semifinals after beating South Africa by eight wickets. India totally outplayed the Proteas in all the departments in a must win game on Sunday (June 11th).
Virat Kohli once again showed why he is a champion in a run-chase. Took his time and then played a great brand of cricket, running hard between the wickets and occasionally clobbering the bowling. He made an unbeaten 76 off 101 deliveries.
Dhawan, in super touch in this Champions Trophy, and Yuvraj played around Kohli. Not too many runs for Yuvraj to score, but would have enjoyed the opportunity to get a few overs out in the middle. In all probability, India will take on Bangladesh in the semifinal on June 15th at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to congratulate them. He said,
“What a great victory for India. Solid performance. Good luck for the semi-finals and finals.”

The bowlers were economical on Sunday and some top class fielding helped India’s cause in the end. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were good as the latter received the man of the match award also.
India will now take a lot of positives from this game and will face Bangladesh in all likeliness in their semi-final clash.
