Yusuf Pathan, Yuzvendra Chahal Register For TNPL Draft 1

The aggressive batsman Yusuf Pathan and leggie Yuzvendra Chahal have registered themselves for the upcoming season of TNPL. Apart from them, Suresh Raina will also be the part of TNPL, who has been signed by Grandslam CC.

Pathan, while confirming the news to Sportstar, revealed that it was his poor form in IPL 2017 that forced him to consider a TNPL stint,

“I was approached by a few teams and that’s when I decided to be a part of the draft. That is precisely the reason I agreed to play the TNPL. Any cricket is good for me at this stage. My target is to play to my strength.”

Yusuf Pathan though is yet to register for any Tamil Nadu club, which is mandatory to be part of TNPL. He revealed that soon, he will play for a club in Tamil Nadu to be part of the TNPL.

On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal had already played Tamil Nadu club last year, so he need not register with any club.

Last year, many of the outstation players showed interest to be the part of the league but BCCI didn’t allow them, but this year, the board showed a green signal to the outside players, which has now seen around 80 cricketers registering them for the league.

Out of 80, only 24 players will get a bidder, as according to the rules, a franchise can have a maximum of three outstation players in the squad, with the only two of them allowed to be a part of playing XI.

In another news, Gautam Gambhir has shown interest in mentoring a TNPL franchise. He is keen to be a part of the backroom staff and has already displayed presentation to few of the franchises. Gambhir had already confirmed the news but the franchise to which he will render his services is yet to be known.

The second edition of TNPL kicks off from July 22, the draft of which will be conducted on June 23.
