A cricket fan from Pakistan was at the receiving end of Ben Stokes’ sense of humour after provoking the English cricketer with an illogical tweet. The random user needlessly tried to drag Stokes into a banter but the Englishman was smart enough brush him aside quickly.
Speaking in the context of England’s recent semi – final loss to Pakistan, the fans mocked Stokes, stating that the hosts lost as a result of frustration after being verbally abused by Pakistani fans from the stands.
He tweeted” I know we gave you abuse from the stands yesterday…It worked quite well as you were frustrated… #intelligent #Pakistan.”

Stokes was in no mood to entertain the fellow and hot back as in subtle yet hard-hitting manner.
He tweeted: “Nearly as intelligent as you replacing the A in your name with a 4…you’re a bloody genius.”

England, the tournament favourites, suffered a shock loss in the semi-finals against an inspired Pakistani side. The hosts entered the semis with an unbeaten record of three wins in three games. However, the knockout game proved to be their last of the tournament as Pakistan displayed a stellar performance and defeated them by 8 wickets. It was a truly authoritative performance from the Asian side.

Pakistan is now set to meet arch rivals for the summit clash at the Kennington Oval, London. India made its way to set up a date with Pakistan with the help of the smooth 9 wicket win over Bangladesh at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham.
The two sides have met earlier in the tournament, opening their respective campaign, during the league stages about a couple of weeks ago. India got better of Pakistan on that occasion by scripting a 124 run win over the Men in Green. However, going into the finals, the conditions and circumstances will be different which will add pressure on both the sides.
Whoever wins, one thing is for sure that it is going to be a cracker of a contest.
