The former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has rubbished media reports of him sending a two line resume while applying for the post of Head Coach of Indian cricket team. Sehwag has said that if he had to send a resume of just two lines, then his name would have been enough to apply for the job,
“I would be happy to get that two line CV from the media source. If I had to send a two line resume, my name was enough,” Sehwag told ‘UCWeb’ in an interview.
Earlier, there were reports that Sehwag sent a resume of just two lines while applying for the post of Head Coach of Indian cricket team, which BCCI sent him back and asked the former Indian opener to send the board a new and complete resume. But Sehwag quashed all the rumours and have smashed all the talkings aside.
Sehwag was earlier not in the race to become the coach of the team but it was learnt that it was BCCI which asked him to apply for it. Later, it was learnt that it was the Indian skipper Virat Kohli himself – who met Sehwag and urged him to become one of the applicants in this race and as a result, Sehwag applied for post in the eleventh hour and made the race interesting.
Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI is yet to announce the new coach of Head Coach of India cricket team and meanwhile, BCCI has extended Kumble’s tenure by one more series and he will travel to West Indies with the team for the limited-over series.

Apart from Sehwag and Kumble, Dodda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, Tom Moody and Craig McDermott are in the race to become the next Head Coach of Indian cricket team. The CAC has asked BCCI to give them some more time before they ink upon the new head coach of the side.
The new coach is expected to be in the post for a period of two years till World Cup 2019, with an eye for long-term success.
