Arsenal stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are seen in the latest leaked poster of the club’s new home kit 2017-18 season, that is due to release later this month.
Both Sanchez and Ozil are linked with a move away from the club as the duo is into the final year on their respective contracts. A new deal is far from complete despite negotiations for over a year with the players’ representatives.
The Gunners have been trying to keep both their stars but are going into the summer with a lot of optimism to get replacements for their stars if they are not signing new contracts.
The loss of Alexis Sanchez would hurt the club most as the Chilean winger was in sensational form for the club last season. He had managed to score an impressive 30 goals and register another 19 assists, which made him arguably the best player in entire Premier League.
He had helped Arsenal to FA Cup last season and is heavily linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe which include the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus and Chelsea. However, the latest poster looks to give Arsenal fans a sigh of relief as it could mean that he would be staying with the club for at least one more season.
Arsene Wenger has been stubborn on his stance over both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. The Frenchman is not keen to sell Alexis Sanchez to his direct rivals Manchester City and it looks like the Chilean might not make a move within the league this summer.
However, he could stay with Arsenal till winter and then will have the option to sign a pre-contract with the club he likes as there are plenty of potential suitors that are keen on getting him. The new poster meant Wenger intends to remain true to his words.
But there has been cases that Arsenal players were sold despite appearing on the home kit poster. One of the prime examples was that of Patrick Vieira who featured in 2005/06 kit poster but was signed by Italian giants Juventus later that summer.
Same had happened with Robin van Persie ahead of 2012/13 season as the Dutch striker made a late summer move to rivals Manchester United and went on to win the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson by the end of the season.
