Spanish giants Barcelona would be back to work on July 12 after the summer break, the official website of Barcelona has announced on Saturday.

This means new manager Ernesto Valverde will start working with the players from July 12, apart from the members who will be on international duty. These players are set to have an extended break with few of them are expected to be back by July 14.

The club are yet to make any massive transfer moves this summer despite having huge plans for the next season. Valvedre is determined to make quality additions to the squad as Barca had failed last season, only managing to win Copa del Rey at the end of the season.

The Blaugrana are keen to make more progress in Champions League after failing against Juventus in the quarterfinals last season. They lost the La Liga race to their bitter rivals Real Madrid, who are enjoying tremendous success winning three Champions League titles in the last four years.

Barcelona will train together for a week before going on a 10-day tour to United States on July 19. They play their first friendly against Juventus on July 22 in New Jersey. The club then faces Premier League giants Manchester United on July 26 in Washington before playing against Real Madrid in Miami on July 29.

The fixture will be the first El Clasico outside Spain in nearly three decades and has attracted plenty of interest from the people in Miami. The tickets were sold in just few minutes once the sales were open, a couple of months ago.

Meanwhile, Denis Suarez, who will be playing in Spain’s U-21 European Championships will join the squad after the pre-season in US. Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes and German goalkeeper Ter Stegan are also expected to join the squad post the tour in United States.
