Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata move away to Manchester United could might depend of Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish striker was on the verge of signing for Premier League giants Manchester United but Ronaldo’s latest stance about considering his future away from the club have put Real Madrid in a spot of bother, according to leading Spanish newspaper AS.

The club are currently not keen to offload any players and have put the transfer negotiations with Manchester United on hold as the Spanish striker could be a useful player if Ronaldo desires to leave Bernabeu this summer.

The report suggests that the Red Devils have almost wrapped up the deal. They have agreed personal terms with Morata and the only thing that is left in the deal is to make a close bid to the evaluation made by Real Madrid. The Los Blancos are believed to have scheduled a meeting with Manchester United to close the deal next week.

If Cristiano Ronaldo decides to make a push for a move away from Real Madrid this summer, Alvaro Morata could well be with the Spanish giants. His future could be on balance as Zinedine Zidane would be in the market to sign a top class striker to fill the big shoes left by Ronaldo.

Morata had earned a name for himself during his stint at Juventus a couple of years ago before Real Madrid brought him back. The 24-year old had a frustrating season under Zidane on his return as he was sparingly used and was largely an impact substitute despite scoring well in the limited opportunities he got.

The news could be bad for Jose Mourinho who is determined to make Morata, his marquee signing this summer. The Red Devils are in the market to sign a classy striker and Morata was believed to be their No.1 target to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the upcoming season.
