On Tuesday The newly-selected the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice president said there will be a “closer scrutiny” of monetary transactions of Indian Premier League (IPL) teams’ promoters to make the “World’s biggest cricket event” a transparent event.
A day after he was selected as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice president, IPL governing council member T C Mathew said all attempts will be made to reinstate the glory of the Indian Premiere League (IPL).
Mathew told a meet the press programme arranged by the Ernakulam Press Club here, that they give permissions only after closer investigation of share transfer. Who is investing more in a Indian Premiere League (IPL) team, how is its monetary transfer, all these factors will be taken into deliberation.
Replying to question asked on spot fixing allegations that have hit the class of the Indian Premiere League (IPL), Mathew said that Indian Premiere League (IPL) will be corrupt-free, fixing-free, and gambling-free. There will not arise any second thought in that. They are trying to restore the glory of the Indian Premiere League (IPL). Indian Premiere League (IPL) is the biggest cricket event happening in world cricket.
Mathew said that they will provide all support to Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, if he is absolved by the court in the spot-fixing scam.
Mathew was quoted saying: “If Sreesanth is exonerated by the court, he can make a comeback to the field of cricket….and we, the Kerala Cricket Association and as a Vice President of the BCCI, I will provide him all support.“
He also stated that the appearance of Indian Super Leagaue (ISL), a professional football league which is well received in India, has not left impact on the glory of the Indian Premiere League (IPL).
