After the win over Bangladesh in the semifinal, India skipper Virat Kohli had said how MS Dhoni’s advise helped him to hand the ball to Kedar Jadhav which changed the course of the match. Bangladesh batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim had added over hundred runs and were looking to take the match away from the Men in Blue but Jadhav’s introduction changed the course of the match as he dismissed both the set batsmen in quick succession.

Well, the defending champions were in a similar position in the ongoing final against Pakistan. Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali had given the Men in Green a solid start by adding 128 runs for the first wicket before the latter was run-out for 59. But Zaman was still causing all sorts of problems for the defending champions and went on to compile his maiden ODI century. But fortunately for India, the southpaw failed to convert his hundred into a big one and was dismissed by Hardik Pandya for 114. His dismissal had given Virat Kohli & Co. a chance to put some pressure on Pakistan and as soon as new batsman Shoaib Malik arrived on the crease, Kohli was seen consulting and taking tips from MS Dhoni. Soon, a slip was introduced for the new man and it totally proves that Dhoni is still the man to consult when the team is in crisis.
