In a major breakthrough to strength the side, Khulna Titans management has signed Australian swashbuckling batsman Chris Lynn for the fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Wednesday, as the news broke out on social media.

“Christopher Austin Lynn is a Titan now! Khulna Titans are pleased to announce that the hard hitting Australian batsman Chris Lynn will join the team for this year’s BPL 2017. How excited are you Titan fans?,” the Khulna Titans official Facebook page has confirmed his agreement.

The Twenty20 Competition is scheduled from November in which eight teams will wrestle for the domestic title.

Lynn has given the hint earlier by adding Khulna Titan’s verified Twitter handle to his account which has made the day for his fans, particularly in Bangladesh.

“@khulnatitans are pleased to announce that @lynny50 will be joining the team for this year’s BPL 2017 ! #khulnatitans #bplt20,” tweeted Khulna Titans.

Showing pyrotechnics with the bat, Lynn has smashed 295 in seven games for Kolkata Knight Riders in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), after going berserk in the home-based Twenty20 competition; Big Bash League while playing for Brisbane Heat.

Interesting, the 27-year-old Queensland-born Lynn became the fourth overseas player for the Titans, as the franchise picked Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed followed by rookie leg-spinner Shadab Khan after fast bowler Junaid Khan was retained by the management.

Interestingly, for the next two seasons, former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene was roped in as a coach for the two season by Titans in May, this year which would benefit the side, as the batting stalwart has been part of the current IPL champions Mumbai Indians.

It’s pertinent to note, the Khulna Titans which is led by Mahmudullah Riyad is owned by Gemcon Sports and is yet to lay hands on the trophy.

Developing himself into a fearsome batsman the right-handed Lynn has amassed 2,649 runs at an average of 36.79. He has smashed solitary hundred and 19 fifties which further saw his strike-rate of 147.98.

However, Lynn is yet to make a mark on the international circuit where he has featured in five ODIs and a solitary T20I.
