Sergio Ramos is one of the best players in the recent Real Madrid history as he has been an integral part of the team over the past decade. The central defender has taken over the reigns as the captain of the side in 2014 and since then helped Los Blancos win two Champions League titles, a Supercopa d’Europa and a Club World Cup as he awaits to lift the La Liga crown at the start of next season.
The five titles in the past two seasons meant he has already won 18 titles with Spanish giants as he is lauded as one of the best defenders in their illustrious history. His incredible trophy collection at the club include Four LaLiga’s, two Copa del Rey’s, two Spanish Super Cups, three Champions Leagues, two European Super Cups and two World Club Cups.
He had also managed to win European champions twice and FIFA World Cup with his national team apart from the tremendous success at Real Madrid. The Spaniard has a good chance of finishing his career as the player with most titles in club’s history.
His current 18 trophies meant he is just five short of Francisco Gento who is the leading trophy winner with 23 titles in 18 seasons. He was closely followed by Real Madrid’s greatest goalkeeper Iker Casillas and Sanchis who managed 21 titles in their glorious careers at the club.
Considering the fact that Ramos is till 31, he can easily manage at least three to four seasons with the club before making a decision on his retirement. The Spaniard have played 12 seasons with Real Madrid since joining them from Sevilla in 2005.
Last season Ramos won four trophies with the club which helped him move past Camacho and Hierro (17 titles) and tie with Chendo in the all time trophy winners list at the club.
If he manages to win next two Super Cups and the Club World Cup with Real Madrid before December this year, he will move to second in the list and will tie with Sanchis and Iker Casillas. He will only be two behind all-time record winner Gento.
