Before the stat of the second ODI between India and West Indies, there was a rumour that Rishabh Pant will make his debut in the game, as a new guy was handed his debut cap.
Though the news turned out to be the wrong one later, but the news of a guy getting a new cap was the true one. That boy was Kuldeep Yadav, who made his debut in the first ODI but didn’t get to bowl, as rain washed out the game.
To make this one a memorable one for Kuldeep, Yuvraj Singh handed the chinaman bowler his debut cap again, which many of people in the ground assumed to be Rishabh Pant.
With each passing day, the quest of fans of the belligerent left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant to see him play is reaching to another level and all want to see him being handed his debut ODI cap in this series because it’s the best opportunity for the Indian team to test this youngster in the series where India are the favourites. People are asking a question to Virat Kohli when Rishabh will get his debut ODI cap and the Indian skipper did reply to it after posting a thumping win over West Indies in the second ODI by a margin of 105 runs,
“We’ll sit down and decide as a team about changes that can be made. We’ll go to Antigua and regroup, and that’s a possibility as well, give a few guys an opportunity,” said Virat Kohli.
Without any doubt, the teenager will get a place in the team in place of Yuvraj Singh, who has just been able to compile 70 runs in five innings he batted since the league stage game against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. In the rain-marred first ODI of this series, Yuvraj could just score four runs, whereas, in the second ODI, he was dismissed on a score of 14. He was also handed the ball as well but could not get any wicket in the five overs
Giving Rishabh a place in place of Yuvraj might be a no brainer and if Rishabh does well in the given opportunity, then it will be difficult for Yuvraj Singh to stage a comeback again.
