Real Madrid’s midfielder Enzo Zidane is close to joining Alaves on a season-long loan deal, according to reports in Spain.

The club sent Marcos Llorente to the La Liga side last season and are happy with the progress made by the striker and are ready to loan out Zidane this season as part of player development.

Spanish media outlet Marca, the 22-year old midfielder is close to joining Alaves on a loan deal and the move can be finalised before the end of this week.

The Spanish club is also looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season after losing Llorente who would be back at Santiago Bernabeu and could also lose left back Theo Hernandez, who is linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Enzo has made his Real Madrid debut in Copa del Rey against Cultural Leonesa and played for nearly 44 minutes which remains his only appearance for the Spanish giants till date. He was also in the squad for Real Madrid’s Champions League final against Juventus at Cardiff.

However, he did not make the final 18 for the game but was seen celebrating their 12th European title with the rest of the squad. The French U-19 international is considered as one of the brightest prospects in Real Madrid reserve team and a move to Alaves will test his skills at the highest level.

He has never played any league game above the third tier of Spanish football and will seriously be looking to prove himself playing in La Liga next season. Real Madrid’s recent transfer policy suggests that the club is loaning out their top young talents and are bringing them back if they are proving to be good in La Liga after their loan stints.

Enzo has spent last three seasons in Real Castilla and will be keen over his new challenge. He represented Spain at under-15 level in 2009 before playing for France as an under-19 three years ago.

He has three younger brothers Luca, Theo and Elyaz, who are playing in Real Madrid reserves team as they look to make a mark in the coming years.
