There have been reports in the recent days that Liverpool have registered their interest in Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe. The transfer for French striker could command a world record fee, especially considering the fact that both Real Madrid and Arsenal are interested in signing him.
The 18-year old had a sensational season with Monaco last term and has caught the attention of big clubs across Europe as he is the youngest player with the highest potential at the moment.
Meanwhile, Barca had cooled their interest in Coutinho after Liverpool’s reluctance to let him leave early in the summer. But the Reds could use Coutinho to fund their ambitious deal for Mbappe.
The Brazilian is a close friend to Barcelona forward Neymar and was in spectacular form for Liverpool last season as the Reds finished in top four to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp is determined to strengthen his squad as the Reds are ready to spend big this summer. Having already signed Mohamed Salah from Roma in a record deal, Liverpool are also linked with RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Mbappe is a huge talent present in the market this summer, but it remains to be seen if Juegrn Klopp can be smart enough to lure him to Anfield as the club still looks to win their first Premier League title.
