Barcelona have completed one month since their Copa del Rey triumph in the last game of Luis Enrique. However, there has been no activity at the club apart from announcing Ernesto Valverde as the new manager at the club.

The Blaugrana also managed to tie down German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen with a new deal. But the club are looking to falling behind in the race to sign their transfer targets.

Valverde is keen to bring in new reinforcements to the club but have so far no progress has been made. The likes of Arda Turan and Jeremy Mathieu are expected to leave the club this summer, even these deals are not done by Barca as Monday marked a silent month in the ongoing transfer window.

Barcelona are linked with numerous players as their top targets include Marco Verratti from Paris Siant-Germain, Hector Bellerin from Arsenal.

Italian midfielder Verratti is not keen to stay with PSG for next season as he is trying to force a move away from the club and Barca are appearing to be favorites to land him. However, PSG are determined to keep hold of their best players to remain competitive in Champions League which proves to be the stumbling block in the transfer deal.

The 24-year old midfielder is considered as one of the best young central defensive midfielders in Europe and has drawn interest from a host of clubs including Premier League giants Chelsea alongside German champions Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also ready to keep hold of Hector Bellerin as the Spaniard is being heavily linked with a move back to Camp Nou this summer. The right back position is the weakest in Barca’s team and the new manager is keen to address it.

The deal looks complicated as Bellerin still has six years left in his contract and remains an important player for the Gunners. However, a move to Camp Nou is something that most of the players cannot reject.

The club have reached verbal agreements with some of their targets but the deals look far more than being done as a frustrating window continues for Barca.
