The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI is all set to start the interview process for the new Head Coach of Indin cricket from July 10, just the next day the deadline to apply for the post ends.
BCCI had earlier kept the last date to sent an application for the job as May 31st but with Anil Kumble resigning from the job later, BCCI again opened up the application process so as to persuade former players to have a go at it as earlier, with Anil Kumble at the helm, many cricketers would have been reluctant to apply for it.

As soon as the BCCI again opened up the post, Ravi Shastri threw his hat into the ring by announcing that he will be one of the applicants to have a go at it. Though he is yet to apply for the job but will soon do the needful as soon as he returns to the country. (Read Here: Ravi Shastri To Apply For Head Coach Job)
Earlier in the day, news came that Venkatesh Prasad has too applied for the job but he cleared the rumour by saying that he is open for the assistant coach job or bowling coach job. He also expressed his desire to work under new Head Coach. (Read Here: Venkatesh Prasad Keen To Work Under New Head Coach)
Virender Sehwag, Lalchand Rajput, Dodda Ganesh, Tom Moody, Ricard Pybus and Ravi Shastri are few of the applicants in the race to become the next Head Coach of Indian cricket team. At present, Indian team is without any Head Coach, as Anil Kumble stepped down from the post as soon as his contract ended, despite being given an extension for one series by BCCI.
He cited untenable relation with skipper Virat Kohli as the reason for quitting the job. Though Virat Kohli didn’t comment on the matter and stressed on maintaining the sanctity of the dressing room.
With the Head Coach post vacant at the moment, we might see many of former cricketers applying for it so as to try out their luck. However, the number may not be as high as 57, the number of applications that BCCI received last year.
