Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not happy with the club going ahead with Romelu Lukaku deal instead of Italian striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports.
The Blues are in the market to sign a new striker with the club looking for replacements for out of favor Diego Costa. The Spaniard is expected to leave the club in the coming days after his recent rift with Conte.
However, there are also good chances of Costa staying at Stamford Bridge until January before making a move to his home club Atletico Madrid, who are currently serving transfer ban and will only be able to sign new players in the winter window.
This leaves Chelsea and Antonio Conte with the job to fill the shoes of Diego Costa who was one of the best strikers in Premier League. Romelu Lukaku is considered as an ideal replacement for Costa as the Belgian scored 25 goals in the league last season.
According to Daily Star, Conte is keen to sign Andrea Belotti instead of Lukaku, who moved from Chelsea to Everton for £28m in 2014.
The 23-year old is one of the best strikers in the world and has earned a name for himself last season with Torino. He is highly valued back in Italy and the club are looking for a massive £85m which is similar transfer fee to that of Lukaku.
Belotti is also a transfer target for Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils could be in for the striker if they fail to land Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid in the coming days. The report further states that Conte situation at the club could worsen more with the club hierarchy if Belotti signs for his league rivals.
The Blues are also looking to finalize deals for Juventus full back Alex Sandro and Manchester City’s Willy Caballero as they are desperate to add more depth and quality to their squad for next season. But the report suggests that the duo are not on Conte’s wishlist.
The Italian manager is yet to sign a new deal with Chelsea despite winning the Premier League in his debut season. Conte is believed to be frustrated with the transfer policy at Stamdord Bridge and that could be reason for his reluctance over signing a contract extension at the club so far.
