Chelsea’s full-back Branislav Ivanovic is going to get a new contract by the Blues’ management after his extra ordinary goal scoring this season. The full back has been effective in-front of goal with him being able to score more goals than Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao and Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli.

The 31-year Serb has moved from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008 for a reported £9.5 million and has been rock solid in Chelsea’s defence and also he has a great ability to link up with attack.

The Serbian’s contract is set to run out by next year and Chelsea are ready to offer him new contract extension of 12 months long as soon as possible. The reported wages are £90,000-a-week. The new deal means that the Serb will stay at Stamford Bridge till 2017.

There is also reported interest from Inter Milan and Real Madrid for the services of the full back but the player seems to commit his future to Chelsea. Chelsea has a policy to offer 12-month deals for players over 30.

Chelsea have already given a new contract for Eden Hazard earlier and are expected to give new deals to Matic, Terry and Ivanovic by the end of this season.
