Real Madrid was the home of some of the finest players in world football and one such player, who ended his allegiance with the club not so long ago is shot stopper, Iker Casillas.
One of the most decorated players in world football at the moment, Casillas is easily one of the best players to ever play the sport in his position and he has been in top form in Spain and in Portugal for more than four years now.
He was allowed to leave the Spanish capital a couple of years ago and Casillas decided to join Portuguese giants FC Porto for the last few years of his career.
He was one of the best shot-stoppers to have ever played at the Bernabeu, winning three Champions Leagues and five Liga titles in what turned out to be a 25-year stint with his childhood club.
However, he was allowed to leave after Real Madrid had their eye on David de Gea from Manchester United.

Even as the Spanish giants are suffering from their choice under the bar, Casillas was in great form for FC Porto, letting in just 23 goals in 43 appearances during the last 2016-2017 campaign.
Linked with Liverpool
He only joined the Portuguese outfit a two-year deal, which came to an end after the end of the previous season and Casillas did not seem too interested in signing a new deal at the club at the start of the transfer window.
Anfield outfit Liverpool, who have some serious problems of their own at the back, reportedly agreed on terms with the player, providing him with a new challenge in England.
The likes of Marseille, Napoli and Malaga have also been scouting for his services recently.
Casillas takes pay-cut; signs new Porto deal
But the player has now revealed that he has extended his contract with the Portuguese giants to stay at the club beyond this transfer window.
Here is his tweet:

“Very happy to continue for one more season with Porto,” Casillas wrote on his Twitter account. “I have much enthusiasm for the challenges ahead!”
Real Madrid covered a portion of his €11m a year wages, which was a part of the deal when Casillas joined for Porto.
However, that deal has now come to an end and reports suggest that he will now only earn €7m a year from the club.
This will also be an increase for Porto, who previously only paid €5m of his wages.
Do you think this is the right move for Casillas?
