Chelsea are keen to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo after Juventus dropping their interest in the Brazilian full back, according to reports.

Blues in search of new full backs

3-4-3 had worked sensationally well for Chelsea and Antonio Conte during his first season at Stamford Bridge. The trio of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill had formed a formidable partnership in central defense with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso playing as wing backs.

However, Chelsea are set to play Champions League next season and Conte is determined to add more quality to his squad. The Blues have been linked with Real Madrid’s Danilo in the recent weeks, who is considered as the defender that could complete the defense for Conte.

Earlier reports suggested that Chelsea have made an initial bid of £22million for Danilo and Italian champions Juventus were also linked as they continue to find a replacement for Dani Alves, who is favored with a move to Etihad.

Danilo had endured a couple of tough seasons at Bernabeu after his move from FC Porto in the summer of 2015 in a record deal. He made a mere 17 league appearances for the Spanish club and was largely overlooked by Zidane as he faces heavy competition with Carvajal.

According to Italian outlet Di Marzio, Chelsea are now favorites to land the 26-year old with Juventus cooling their interest. The Italain champions are keen to sign Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa who could fill the non-EU spot in the squad.

On the other hand, Los Blancos are looking for a transfer fee around £26.5million as they look to recoup most of their transfer money for Danilo.

Frustrating Window Continues

The Blues are enduring a tough time in the transfer market. Each of their league rivals have managed to sign one big player so far this season but the West Londoners are yet to make a marquee signing.

They had been linked with the likes of Alex Sandro, Tiemoue Bakayoko and few others in the recent weeks but nothing got finalized. Antonio Conte is desperate to land another striker as well and the Blues had suffered a body blow after Romelu Lukaku agreed to join their rivals Manchester United on Friday.
