Jamaica was host to sheer carnage from the willow of Ewin Lewis, as the southpaw decimated India in the one-off T20I. Despite being restricted to a below par score with respect to the opposition and conditions, India was expected to show up in a fighting spirit and defend the total till the very end.
Rather, the men in blue were rendered completely hopeless when Lewis began his brutal assault, bludgeoning the ball to all parts of the picturesque Sabina Park, in Jamaica. Lewis, in the due course of the chase, brought up his second T20I century against India, the last of which came barely 12 months ago in Florida in similar conditions.
Lewis became the first player since Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum to have two T20I centuries. The target of 191 seemed like a walk in the park from the hosts, as riding on Lewis’ mind blowing 125 off 62 deliveries, the target was scaled down with nine balls to spare.
Fans on Twitter went wild as Lewis set off and raced to the target, and below are some of the tweets.
DK allowing Pant to breathe easy for a bit…pressure building on the youngster. Boom-Bust soon. #WIvIND
