Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has revealed that Spanish striker Alvaro Morata could be on his way out as he looks for more regular playing time. The Spaniard was linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea since the start of summer but the Red Devils have dropped their interest after signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton last week.Sergio Ramos has revealed that Morata is looking at potential options as he is keen to make a move away from Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
“The only thing, as a team-mate, I can say is that I like playing with the best players and hopefully they’re with us for many more years,” Ramos told Marca.
“Perhaps Cris’ case is different to Morata’s, who is looking to play more and feel like a starter.
“Maybe he’s looking for a way out, so we’ll see.”
Morata had a difficult season under Zidane as he played as an understudy to French striker Karim Benzema. He is willing to move away from Bernabeu this summer in search of more playing time. He is overlooked despite his brilliant season with Juventus a year ago.
But the 31-year old has also brought more positive news to Real Madrid fans as the Portuguese skipper is in line to stay with the club for the next season. Ronaldo was linked with a move away from Real after the tax allegations made by the Spanish authorities last month.
However, he has cooled down the anger over the club doing nothing about the allegations and would yet again play an important role for Los Blancos next season.
“My relationship with [Ronaldo] is very good,” Ramos added.
“We practically speak every two or three days, so in that sense, I’m very calm (about his future).”
Chelsea are keen to land Morata as he remains to be the best striker available in the market after Antonio Conte’s rift with striker Diego Costa.
The Blues are visibly frustrated after losing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and are determined to land a top class striker before the end of the window.
