West Indies became the third team from Pool B to qualify for the Quarter-Finals after their huge 6 wicket win over UAE at Napier. With this win, Windies have 6 points from the group stage and have finished fourth from their group. The winner in the match between Ireland and Pakistan will finish third. If the match ends in a tie, both Pakistan and Ireland will qualify and Windies will get knocked out.

Choosing to field on amid some cyclone warnings, West Indies struck early as their pacers Jason Holder and Jerome Taylor reduce their openers for 46-6 in 14 overs before Amjad Javed and Nasir Aziz put on a hundred run partnership that revived their innings. The duo put on 107 runs in 26 overs as both of them reached their fifties before getting out which saw UAE eventually getting bundled out for 175.

In the absence of Chris Gayle, West Indies started slowly but cautiously. Against the run of play, they lost Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels to pacer Manjula Guruge. Opener Johnson Charles and Jonathan Carter did the repair works and helped Windies from an early slump. Charles got out for 55 and soon after Andre Russell followed him back to the pavilion with 58 runs needed to win. Carter and Denesh Ramdin batted sensible as they took their side home. Carter remained unbeaten on 50 as West Indies chased down the total in just over 30 overs.

With this win, Windies will face New Zealand at Wellington on 21 March 2015. Jason Holder was named the Man of the Match for his spell of 4-27 in 10 overs.

Only Two things can stop West Indies from qulifying for Quarter-Final:

A) If Pakistan v UAE is a tie.

B) If  Pakistan lose in a high scoring match.
