Arsene Wenger was upbeat after his side recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham which has virtually guaranteed their top 4 finish this season. Arsenal saw Olivier Giroud on the scoresheet once again along with returning Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini.
We bring you Arsene Wenger’s post-match interview where he discussed tonight’s win, Olivier Giroud’s goal and the much awaited Champions League clash against Monaco:
Arsene Wenger on 3-0 win over West Ham:
“It’s a good performance. We controlled the game in the first half, created many chances but couldn’t score.
“In the final part of the game, we always looked dangerous and capable of scoring goals.
“Overall we scored great collective goals like we love to play.”
Arsene Wenger on Olivier Giroud’s goal:
“It was a fantastic goal because it’s a consequence of a fantastic combination just before and after. On top of that the finishing was great.
“It’s the kind of goal we love to score. On top of that Giroud had a great finish.”

Arsene Wenger on Arsenal still being in the title race:
“Not at the moment but we just have to keep going. We’ve won eight of the last nine and we are stronger today than we were at the start of the season.
“We dropped off in this league because we won one of six at the start of the season.
“We suffered a lot from the post-World Cup fixtures. Players came back and they weren’t ready to play.”
Arsene Wenger on Arsenal’s line up against Monaco:
“I haven’t decided yet. You have to take that a little bit with perspective because the game [against West Ham] was more open, they were fresh when they came on and they have the quality of course.
“I rested Cazorla today because he’s basically played every single game since the start of the season.”
This win for Arsenal and Manchester City’s slip up against Burnley has left the league wide open as now there is a proper dogfight for the sides aiming to finish in top 3 of the league. Arsenal are now just 1 point behind Manchester City and with form on their side, Arsenal look the safer bet to fisnih in top 2 than Man City.
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal believed his side can finish above Arsenal and Man City so does Arsene Wenger and tonight’s result would certainly establish their claim to finish in top 2 or even launch a dramatic late push for the title.
