Having the point to prove, Cricket Australia and its Australia Cricketers’ Association (ACA) are looking to build up a consensus owning to the consultation, as the all-important failure of a revenue model could be seen as a threat to Steven Smith-led side for the two-match Test tour which is scheduled from August 27 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka in Bangladesh. As the pay dispute debate is moving slowly between the administrators for the desired result of players, Australia’s Test team would meet on August 10, in Darwin, in a bid to prepare for their tour to the subcontinent.
Making it a point for agreeing, the players expect a fresh Memorandum of Understanding to render the services to the national team.
As both the factions are yet to reach to the mutual agreement over the revenue model of payment, which further explained the long-standing dispute has clearly shown the warning for Bangladesh’s tour which reportedly could be under threat, as compiled by Canberra Times.
The reports revealed players might skip One-day Internationals series against India if Bangladesh’s tour will be called-off which is subjected to clearance of payment model between CA and ACA.
Coming to the core of the issue, the concurrent players are hesitant to participate in overseas fixtures, at the time when other brand of cricketers are pushing hard after being overlooked for the hefty contracts.
However, the Australian players have had praised the effort put in by CA’s James Sutherland in a bid to process the meeting which according to many is going at a slow pace following the revenue model which is an as a bone of contention for both the bodies in Australia.
In the meantime, Tim Cruickshank, Who is ACA commercial manager, will be to India, in order to look out for resources for the cricketers, who are unemployed following the stalemate draw the huge criticism even from the current players from Australia.
Showing the development as a major process, the CA chief and ACA head Alistair Nicholson has talked to its length and breadth over revenue sharing model for what players are supposed to get under the general scheme which has been paid since 1997.
However, CA wished to process the paid amount as surplus revenue which has created the ruckus and needs a quality resolution in a bid to bridge the gap between factions.
The reports suggested the meeting would be held on July 20, as the CA revealed the development is taking place in a bid to reach the final agreement while taking the consent of players as well as the bodies.
