Well, what does one expect from a seasoned all rounder? Primarily, firebrand quick flick batting and tight fielding followed by reasonable bowling. Incidentally, former Indian all rounder Yuvraj Singh, who was not included in the squad of 30 probables shortlisted by the Indian Team management, possesses all above necessary ingredients .Oh yes, there is no dearth of courage as this popular shining star had beaten the deadly disease of cancer owing to his fighting spirit and strong determination. Needless to mention that despite a gross ignorance from the Indian Team Management, he was sold for a whopping 14 crores to RCB last season and this year his price tag enhanced further when the Delhi Daredevils paid Rs 16 crores for vibrant Yuvi. Perhaps this becomes the reason that Nick Compton, the captain of MCC strongly believes that his side will definitely be benefited from the presence of ‘superstar’ Yuvraj Singh in Friday’s Emirates Airline T20 tournament.
It is worthwhile to mention that ICC Cricket World Cup winner in the year 2011 Yuvraj happens to be one of the main star attractions in MCC’s side for the tournament, which also features Sussex, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Obviously, Compton is quite excited by the privilege of having such an experienced performer in his team. He said, “Yuvraj singh is a worldwide name who has been on the international scene for some time and he has also had a few challenges which are well documented”.
He further added,“He’s had some ups and downs and I think that level of experience and knowledge is something that will aid me and the other guys”.
Underlining the skills of Yuvraj he exclaimed, “To be able to tap into that knowledge and have a superstar in the squad… we all know what it’s like playing cricket in India and Yuvraj really is a big superstar.”
It is really nice to see that Yuvraj Singh who has got a large fan following in India, is also being recognized by the MCC. Hopefully, this will pave way of his long awaited comeback in to the Team India.
