A well-compiled hundred from Rohit Sharma and a blistering innings from Suresh Raina helped India get to a match winning total of 302 against Bangladesh in the second quarter-final of 2015 World Cup at MCG.

After choosing to bat, India got off to a good start as their openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma put on 75 runs for the first wicket before Dhawan, who was playing well for his 30, lost his wicket to Shakib Al Hasan. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane soon followed Dhawan leaving India in a bit spot of bother at 115/3 in 28 overs. Suresh Raina, who scored a hundred in India’s Pool stage match against Zimbabwe, came out all guns blazing and, along with Rohit added 122 runs for the 4th wicket. Both also scored 50 runs in the batting powerplay overs before Raina got out on the score of 65. Rohit then carried on the good work and brought up his first hundred in World Cup and overall 7th in ODIs. Ravindra Jadeja played a little cameo at the end and took India past 300. This was the third time India scored above 300 in this World Cup. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets but gave away 69 runs in his full quota of 10 overs.

Brief Scores: India 302/6 (Rohit 137, Raina 65, Jadeja 23*) vs Bangladesh
