Cricketers often face it problematic to adjust to overseas conditions and fail to cope up with the bounce and pace in the foreign soils. The Indian pitches are much towards the slower side and the Indian batsmen often face it difficult to get accustomed to overseas pitches with full of pace and bounce. However, throughout the years, we have seen many great batsmen being successful even on overseas soils. Here is the list of the players who have got the most number of centuries on overseas soils(countries outside Asia).

  1. Sourav Ganguly, 12: The former Indian captain was a brilliant left handed opening batsman for India in ODIs. He has scored a number of centuries in the English soils. He batted for 131 innings and scored 12 centuries in that with a best of 183 runs against Sri Lanka.
  2. Sachin Tendulkar, 11: Tendulkar has got a total of 49 ODI centuries to his name and he used to play brilliantly in overseas soils. He was the player of the tournament in the World Cup, 2003. He scored 11 centuries in 171 innings.
  3. Virat Kohli, 6: He has been a sensational batting star for India of late and has been the anchor of the Indian batting line up. He has got 6 centuries out of 64 innings. He has scored a total of 21 international centuries so far.
  4. Shikhar Dhawan, 5: The left handed opening batsman of India played brilliantly in the Champions Trophy, 2013 where he scored couple of centuries and India were the champions of the tournament. In the on going World Cup, he has got 2 centuries under his belt, one against South Africa and the second one against Ireland respectively. He has scored the 5 centuries in 39 international matches.
  5. Rohit Sharma, 4: The right handed opening batsman of India has been in brilliant touch of late. He has already got a century under his belt in this World Cup. Out of the 4 overseas centuries, 2 have come at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The one against Bangladesh at the quarter final was a sheer important one. He has scored 4 centuries in 64 innings so far.
