Kevin Pietersen Takes A Subtle Dig At Ravi Shastri 1

Kevin Pietersen has taken a subtle dig a the newly appointed Head Coach of Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri. The new coach shared a photo on twitter where he was keeping a keen eye on the performance of Indian team in Sri Lanka during the practice game. Here is what Shastri tweeted –

 

Pietersen though thought of teasing Shastri as he took a subtle dig at him by tweeting  –

Everyone in cricket fraternity knows that Shastri has made a comeback in the Indian backroom staff and this time as the Head Coach of the side. The fact that Virat Kohli had a pivotal role in his appointment is also a truth. Shastri was his favourite and in the end, Kohli had his way.

Shastri defeated the like of Virender Sehwag, who was one of strongest contender for the job. In fact, he was the only candidate who appeared the job interview in person and impressed each member with his power point presentation but as said, Kohli needed his trustworthy man in the backroom staff and Shastri was handed the job.

Soon after the appointment, Shastri too had his way as he got his man Bharat Arun as the bowling coach of Indian cricket team. He said that he had core team decided and the men he wanted in the dressing room. Though his appointment erupted a controversy as with him being given the job, the role of Zaheer Khan has now become a complex one and BCCI is yet to come up with an official word regarding that. Though a word on Dravid’s appointment also awaited he is already with India A and Under 19 side whereas this was to be Zaheer’s first stint with a BCCI team. Looking at the series of events, it is likely that he might not be given a contract now.

With this controversy going on in BCCI, each and everyone is taking a dig at Shastri and BCCI. Pietersen was only one of those who took a subtle dig. Ravi Shastri is yet to come up with a reply to Pietersen’s tweet.
