Veteran fast bowler and former Australian pace spearhead Glenn McGrath on Tuesday has lauded the efforts of Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav for showing the maturity in order to manage the bowling workload concurrently.

“Indian bowlers are going well and (Umesh Yadav) he knows how to recover and when you know that you got less chances of injuries,” McGrath was quoted as saying by PTI.
The stalwart of the gentleman’s game, McGrath is focusing on nursing the fast bowling talent while revealing the pace also play an important factor in the modern-day cricket.
The 47-year-old New South Wales-born McGrath, who is parting the bowling tips to the Under-23 and Under-19 under the part of a two-day programme supervised by the MRF Pace Foundation, further revealed Umesh has improved as a fast bowler which reflects in his approach.
“Umesh Yadav is bowling really well at the moment. He is up match after match. He should know, how to prepare himself, how to recover,” McGrath added.
McGrath, who has played a pivotal role for Australia in the Test and limited-overs cricket, stated Umesh has been coming out with a positive frame of a mind.
“Umesh is bowling well, with confidence,” McGrath asserted.

McGrath opined he doesn’t think that staying fit would always produce desired results, but he has thrust that recovering quickly from an injury plays a crucial role in the set-up.
“I always say being fit is not so much, how long you can bowl, it is about how quickly you recover and as we get older we get to know ourselves better,” McGrath has maintained.
The right-arm fast bowler McGrath has reiterated to give a break to the Pacers, in a bid to keep the bench strength strong while avoiding the injuries which he has witnessed during his time back in Australia, as it has further become a norm across the cricketing globe.
“A fast bowler needs an off season. You got to have a break to put that strength and fitness back in,” McGrath concluded.
Known as ‘Pigeon’ McGrath has featured in 250 One-day Internationals in which he has bagged 381 wickets. The greatest of all time, McGrath has bagged 563 wickets in 124 Tests which claiming 28 five-wicket haul. Interestingly, he has participated in two Twenty20 International in which he bagged five wickets at an average of 15.80.
