Each and every supporter of Team India is concerned about Team India’s chances against Australia in the semi-final of the World Cup which is to be played at the Sydney cricket ground on 26th of March. Among a lot of guess work and speculations running around in the social media, here comes a word of encouragement from none other than the legendry Brain Lara who is also fulfilling the role of commentator as well in the ongoing World Cup.  West Indian star cricketer, Brian Lara thinks that India will defend the World Cup if they are able to beat Australia in the semi-final .

Lara said  “The top four teams (India, Australia, South Africa have already qualified. New Zealand will take on West Indies today for the fourth spot) are in the semis. If India manages to beat Australia in the semi-final, I have no doubt that they can become world champions again.”

Lara whole heartedly appreciated India’s bowling which has so far helped the team in winning seven matches on the role in this World Cup. He added “India’s plus point is that their bowlers are bowling well. That is giving them an edge. Swing, bounce and speed are important, but most important is bowling intelligently. Indian bowlers may not be very strong on paper, but they have taken 70 wickets (in seven matches), which is a key factor.”

Lara is seemingly very impressed with Mohammad Shami’s performance and said “He is an outstanding bowler. He has improved a lot.”

With the given outstanding batting strength of Team India, having talented batsmen like Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rahane, Raina and Dhoni, no one is bothered about giving or chasing any target but still the million dollar question remains crucial is weather our bowlers will be able to get crucial wickets against Australia too? On a personal note, I strongly believe that the game is open for both the teams but the pointer is tilting a bit towards Australia as their batsmen and bowlers are having the advantage of playing on the pitches more suitable for them. Meanwhile we can pray that the coveted trophy might stay with Team India.
