Australian dynamic batsman Glenn Maxwell wants the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to be mean and green for Thursday’s World Cup semi-final against defending champion India despite the wicket’s reputation as a spin bowler’s heaven.

Maxwell, who is desperate for a track which will play into the hands of an attack which boasts pace bowlers Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, trusts home ground advantage could be key as the Australia look to end the defending champions’ 7 match winning streak at the International Cricket Council World Cup, a magnificent run which has seen them bowl out the opponent in every game.

He expects that they will get a fast wicket there. It has been a quiet good pitch this year and possibly there is a wee bit of grass there as well, added Maxwell. India have a miserable record at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) where they have got the victory just once in 14 One Day Internationals against Australia with their only win coming back in 2008.

Maxwell in reference to Australia’s dominance in the Test and One Day International series which preceded the International Cricket Council World Cup said that India have not won a match against Australia all summer, expectedly they can make the most of that. Probably that is quiet clear in their memories. They have been dominant all summer in the One Day International format. Probably they can continue that.
