Chris Gayle, Caribbean opening devastating batsman has ruled himself out of the home test series against England next month in order to permit a back injury to settle down but he has ruled out retiring from international crickets.

The 35 years old Jamaican batsman top-scored for his team with 61 runs in their International Cricket Council World Cup quarter-final on Saturday defeat by co-hosts New Zealand and took his time leaving the field, accepting the crowd`s standing ovation.

He told a cricket website that he is actually out of the test series, the back would not hold up for that format at this point . He wants to play the Twenty 20 World Cup next year for West Indies, there is no second thought about that. He has got a few concerns and a few injury problems to try and solve.

He will give himself some time and expectedly look back at it and see how well he can actually improve for West Indies cricket.

Gayle has an injury doubt before the match at Wellington Regional Stadium and had to have a painkilling medicine in his back earlier in the week. He also emerged to hurt himself while taking a catch in the field and was barely capable to run while batting.

He said that they have to take the circumstances into consideration, it was a bit cold and he is feeling some pain. As he goes on he will keep informing West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) about his improvement in the future with West Indies cricket.
