HS Prannoy defeats World number 2 Jan Orgsen 18-21, 21-14,21-14 in the second round of the Yonex Indian Open Super series at Siri Fort Complex at New Delhi just few moments ago. It was an excellent performance by talented Indian player. The match was watched by a good crowd.
In the first game Jan Orgsen began off well to take 2-0 lead but HS Prannoy came back to square it up at 3-3. HS Prannoy played some excellent badminton hitting smashes. Both the players were playing some excellent badminton and were equal at 10-10 before Jan Orgsen took a slender lead of 11-10 at the interval. After the interval HS Prannoy came back to take 13-11 lead before Jan Orgsen came back to level at 17-17. Jan Orgsen played some excellent badminton and took 3 successive points to make it 20-17. Jan Orgsen took the first game 21-18.
In the second game both the players played some excellent badminton and were equal again at 3-3. Then Jan Orgsen took a 6-4 lead before HS Prannoy made a fantastic comeback to make 10-8. At the interval it was 11-9 in favor of HS Prannoy. After the interval HS Prannoy played some excellent badminton and just did not allow Jorgsen to comeback in the game. HS Prannoy was at his best and took the second game 21-14.
In the third game HS Prannoy began off to a fantastic start taking a 6-1 lead. Jan Orgsen cameback in the game and reduced the gap 6-9. At the interval it was 11-9 in favor of HS Prannoy. After the interval there was no stopping of HS Prannoy as he hit some great strokes. He took the review at 15-10 which stood in favor of HS Prannoy to make it 16-10. HS Prannoy took the third game 21-14 and was only Indian player to beat highest ranked player in the World.
In the previous match P Kashyap lost to Chinese Xue Song 16-21, 11-21.
