Dinesh Karthik made his TNPL come back in the game against Chepauk Super Gillies for his franchise, Tuti Patriots. However, the wicket-keeper batsman did not have a great return, as he was bowled on the first delivery that he faced, which left him disappointed.

Karthik opted for a break before joining his team. After returning from West Indies, Karthik decided to take some time off instead of joining the practice camp.

He went onto miss the first week of the league and after three weeks of rest, he finally decided to come back and lead the defending champions. At present, the franchise is on the top of the points table with three wins in as many games.

IPL mystery boy, Washington Sundar has been the key to success for this team. The all-rounder has starred in all the three games for his team and in the fourth game, he went onto play an innings of 107, batting at a strike rate of 175.41. The success of the team heavily depends upon on him and presence of Karthik for the upcoming games will be a boost for this franchise.

Though, they might miss out on the services of Karthik again, as he is expected to retain his place for the ODI series against Sri Lanka and Karthik will leave the camp just before the final week of the tournament when qualifiers and eliminators will be played.

Looking at the form of Tuti Patriots, they are expected to seal their place in the next round soon and at the big stage, Karthik’s absence can make a lot of difference.
