The governing body of one of the most popular sport in the world has a vacant post of president and there are loads of people who can make it to the posts from different nations. Pakistans former chairman Najam Sethi has made himself available for election after a resignation by Mustafa Kamal from Bangladesh.

Sethi who is now PCB’s executive committee chairman, informed the apex body that he is ready to take over as ICC president in late June as a nominee from Pakistan as this post is shared between Test playing nations on rotational basis.

A source alleged that Sethi might have embarrassed the PCB by nominating for a place left by the resignation of a member from a Test playing nation. He felt that the Bangladesh Cricket Board has the right to appoint the next nominee and that Sethi should not have given his name.

There is also a doubt if Sethi has informed Shariyar about his nomination specially after the Moin Khan issue between the two where Shariyar felt he should be sacked as the chief selector and Sethi had other views.

It is also said that it was becoming hard for people involved with the PCB to gain control as both these men imposed their views in different ways.

Shariyar today also axed another appointee of Sethi who is said to be already unhappy with the proceedings within the board. It was said that Rafai had stepped down but inside reports suggest that he was shown the door by Shariyar.
